When Printing an the Mind of Man was first published in 1967, it became soon established as a major reference work for book-collectors, booksellers, librarians and scholars. Today the initials PMM as the standard abbreviation for Printing and the Mind of Man are probably more often used than any other formula wherever important and influential books are described.
This second edition of Printing of the mind and Man has been substantially revised and enlarged. A new bibliographical section has been added by a well-known bibliographical scholar. Here, no fewer than 550 new bibliographies or bibliographical references are given. Furthermore, the original index has been revised and some 350 errors, misprints as well as wrong page references have been corrected.
